Curved Light Lines with a Golden Edge for LA MER
At the end of 2021, Esther Canisius approached us for this project. The request: subtle curved light lines with both direct and indirect lighting, and profiles in a gold finish. No problem, of course! Although such a project often presents significant technical challenges. Especially since the ceiling would be sprayed with acoustic material. This meant that all suspension and power points had to be drilled on-site in advance, as this would no longer be possible afterward.
Designer Rutger Link from Loerakker Led Line shared: “Projects like these motivate me immensely. They challenge me to push boundaries, find creative solutions, and at the same time strive for a result that is not only beautiful but also functional and sustainable.”
For the color finish, we chose to first brush the aluminum profiles lengthwise after bending, followed by anodizing them in a gold color. This results in a sleek yet warm color finish.
Interior designer Esther Canisius:
“The up/down lighting fixtures were specifically designed and custom-made for this occasion. They almost draw you in and guide you through the building.”
